AiNET’s Baltimore telecom hotel at One Market Center is Maryland’s most connected internet data center. Expanding partnerships with the world’s largest connectivity providers will increase the carrier capacity of Baltimore and position AiNET for further growth in the region.
Baltimore, MD – March 18, 2016 – AiNET® announced today that they will be expanding their partnership with Lightower by housing Lightower’s central telecommunications hub in a large suite at One Market Center’s Meet-Me-Room (MMR). In late 2015 Lightower announced a large fiber acquisition in Baltimore, giving the company “direct access to nearly all major office buildings, data centers and sports venues in Baltimore,” according to a statement released by Lightower. “This network addition helps solidify Lightower’s presence in Baltimore, a city in which we continue to invest and expand. Our all-fiber solutions are now available to all enterprises, educational institutions, health care businesses, media companies, government agencies, and wireless and wireline carriers,” explained Rob Shanahan, CEO of Lightower.
Though the Lightower acquisition will give their customers access to numerous data centers in and around Baltimore, their central hub at One Market Center is the true engine behind the network. AiNET’s telecom hotel directly underpins 25% of all worldwide internet traffic, and has over 75MW of power redundantly provided by 4 city-wide network grids. Lightower joins industry giants such as Level 3 Communications, Verizon, Comcast, XO Communications, Zayo and Windstream who use AiNET’s One Market Center telecom hotel as their network backbone.
“We are excited to work with Lightower because every enhancement in connectivity brings faster speeds, more reliability, and more options,” says Deepak Jain, founder and CEO of AiNET. “Strategic partnerships like this support our vision of transforming Baltimore into the most connected city in the world.”
