The iconic Howard Street landmark will start being shown to potential tenants in early May
Baltimore, MD – April 19th, 2017 – Ever since the Hutzler Brothers Palace building closed for business 1984, the historic site – listed on the National Register of Historic Places – has stood mostly vacant in the intervening decades. Not anymore.
“We are committed to preserving the iconic architecture of the Hutzler’s Palace, both inside and out,” says Pamela Sweeney, Sr. Vice President of Capital Projects at AiNET. “I know how important this building is to so many in the city, and it is our goal to do everything we can to preserve the history and legacy of this historic space.”
The Palace building and the adjacent tower where the One Market Center data center operates, have over 200,000 square feet of space. AiNET plans to convert the Palace building into a mixed use residential-commercial environment, and will be considering all supporting proposals.
Sweeney says, “We want to ensure that this building is being used in an exciting, creative way that fits the neighborhood and energy of the Bromo Arts district, while meeting the needs of the community. We will be reaching out to the arts community in the city to help to beautify this space, and all other properties and spaces we touch.”
The building is currently hosting The Ground, an innovative art installation by Michael Jones McKean, in partnership with The Contemporary, the Baltimore-based nomadic arts gallery.
Tenants will enjoy a Walkability score of 98, modern services and high tech amenities, in keeping with AiNET’s core business of high technology services.
